Hey Guys,

I just wanted to get some opinions about the built quality of aftermarket part manufactures for CJ's. Over the years I think i've bought parts from just about every company (Omex, Rugged Ridge, Smittybuilt), and it seems like a crapshoot when it comes to quality. I bought a rugged ridge windshield hinge that held up great, but I also bought other products from RR that were terrible. Same thing with Omex-Ada, and Smitty Built.

Anybody else run into this?

Thanks!

Josh

To answer your title post ..... yes, there are some decent aftermarket parts out there.

rugged ridge and omix are the same company. i will never buy anything from them unless there is no other way. i have had better luck with crown for stock replacement parts, but i have heard a lot of people have had bad luck with them. smittybuilt seems to be about 50/50. there are generally other options if you look hard enough. what parts are you looking for??

The outfits you named are all buy'n China JUNK--
They will never get a penny of mine.
