Electrical Batt indicator light

Anyone knows how to wire this light? It would come on only if the alternator stops putting out a charge and not a voltage indicator. Thank you.

What alternator? The one on the LS or the 350? How many wires / terminals?

Hate to say it but 2 pin DR44 alternators require the ECM to work voltage control and battery light but will feed 13.8v constant with just the + battery charge terminal hooked up.

If it was a 3 pin DR44g it would not need an ECU, go figure huh...

I do know modern GM’s do in fact control the the charge output as opposed to constant full on charge. I don’t think I have this feature on my DR.

Yep, 2 pins require an ECU but 3 pins use an excitor circuit so they can be wired without the ECU.

I see. Didn’t know what I had but find it interesting that it worked plug and play with the aftermarket engine controller. There is no mention of this feature in the description. Thank you.

Most aftermarket ECUs come with charging circuit plugs because it's really vital for engine control. The cool thing about the 3 pin is they can be tricked...

No idiot light possible with the two pin DR44, you was right. Unless I do a modification. Not going to happen. I am happy though to find out it’s a 145 ampere heavy duty adaptive output unit.
