Hi guys!
I’m facing some strange issues on my AMC 1975 CJ6 Jeep. My indicators are not working every time, if the engine is turned on. But if the engine is turned off they works completely fine. I really don’t understand…
Can someone please try to help me?

Cheers!

By "indicators", do you mean external market lights or do you mean dash indicators in the gauge cluster (blinkers, high beam, brake, etc)? Or do you mean gauges (fuel, temp, etc)? Also, key on with engine actually running vs key on but engine not started?

Normally, issues with getting power to circuits that require the ignition switch to be on are related to the ignition switch itself. Worn out internal contacts, corroded contacts inside the connector plug(s), slipped mounting such that the rod that pushes the switch is no longer moving the switch internal slide to the proper position, etc. Unbolt the switch from the lower top of the steering column and remove the activator rod that comes down the column from the lock up top, Then you can use a screwdriver inserted into the switch hole where the rod was and manually move the switch back and forth while watching the indicators you reference to see when they come on/off. Of course this is a great place to have a multi-meter as well. You can check for voltage on AUX circuits while moving the switch to its various positions.
