Well it’s time to update this one some. Ever since last summer I was having some different problems with my Jeep, missing out on 3 different trips with others. Ever since getting my Jeep finished from a change of engine/Transmission and overhaul of Transfer Case , and installing MSD ignition parts and Holley Sniper I was having problems. Way too rich. Somewhere around December I pulled into my garage with it running well. A couple weeks later I tried to start it up and turned over but no fire. This past February I ditched the MSD coil and AL6 box and MSD distributor and installed an HEI. At least that way I could eliminate the fire problem i figured. Still could not get it started. Called in a friend who has 4 CJs and is far better at diagnosis than me. All along everyone was saying my rich burning problem was either rings or valve stem umbrellas were leaking. So we jumped head first into it and removed the head to check that out. Found a collapsed lifter and replaced all the umbrellas rubber caps. Found the timing chain had some slack, so installed 2 new sprockets and chain, timing was out 180 degrees. We never did figure that one out. Somewhere in that time also replaced a couple of rear brake lines and also a brake master cylinder. Finally i did get it running and most of the oil burning richness was gone but I was still having some strange AFR readings with the Sniper. The good thing was I knew I wasn’t having problems with fire. Somewhere during that time I also swapped out the O2 sensor because I could see the carbon/oil burned on it. I didn’t know right away but it was bad. Put the old one back in eventually and it ran better. I had been talking with knowledgeable people and one suggested I check the TPS sensor. So I started reading up on that. Turns out several people said Holley has been sending out snipers that the TPS is not adjusted correctly. So I took it over to another friend who actually helped me do all the engine/Transmission /Transfer Case work and discovered sure enough it was set wrong. 0.5 volts with throttle closed. 4.5 volts wide open. He was able to adjust the TPS and get those readings. It was definitely running better after that, but still not 100% yet. He was pretty adamant about me getting another 02 sensor because the one I was using was sooted up. Today i installed the one I bought a few months ago and it was way worse than the sooted up one. So I got another Bosch 02 new today and I think I might have finally got somewhere because so far it’s running very well. Still have to do more driving to test it for hopefully a trip in 2 weeks with a bunch of other Scramblers. One of the trips I missed last November. I will post more tomorrow to get this more updated on the work last week and today also.

Glad you're back on the road. BTW don't buy the 02 from Holley you can get the correct Bosch unit (which is what sells for 180) for about 60 bucks from Rock Auto

The one I got off eBay was the problem one. Napa happened to have one in stock. I will check out RO. MM you have any idea what these O2s were used on ? A particular vehicle because Napa had nothing on cross referencing for anything in their computer

I believe it was a 2012 Volkswagen ww upstream sensor.

But just in case here's the part number

I was just trying on RO. Have the part number and it wasn’t letting me past the does this fit your vehicle ? Will try again this afternoon. Thanks

I just went there added it straight to my cart and worked fine. FYI with shipping and the 5% discount it actually works out to be the same price as Amazon with the free shipping.

I’ll take a look
