Hey guys,
I am wrapping up my T-176 rebuild, and getting ready to start reassembling everything. At least two of the bolt holes on the bell housing are stripped out and will need to be helicoiled. Of the top of your heads, does anyone know the correct thread size/pitch for these bolts? I am not at all confident that the bolts I have are correct. A previous owner seems to have had no problem trying to make the wrong size bolt fit. I already had to helicoil the front 4 bolts for the bearing retainer on the T-176 .

Thanks for any help!

Justin

It will be a coarse thread SAE bolt. Something like 3/8x16, 7/16x14 or 1/2x13. I don’t have a bell housing anymore to compare but I do remember them being coarse thread

Thanks, I am thinking it is supposed to be 7/16-14. I don't have a tap that size, but I have 3/8 and 1/2, and the hole is somewhere between the two.

Thanks for replying!

Sounds about right it’s always whatever size you don’t have lol
