I'm just going to through this out there for those of you that take your Jeep off-road regularly and don't need a nice perfect paint job. This you can do yourself. I have a utility trailer for my Jeep that I repainted. I did this for two reasons. One it needed it. Two I wanted to test and see how the paint would hold up. Let me just say that I am no painter by any imagination. Painting a vehicle and making it like a million bucks is an art in itself. I used Eastwood's Ceramic Engine Paint. It is very easy to spray on, dry's quickly, and very hard. I prepped the surface with a sand able primer. Only took a couple of hours to sand smooth. Then sprayed it with the can of engine paint and the bottle of hardener added. The ware that I have gotten is remarkable. I've hauled wood, gravel, and a whole bunch of other stuff in it. There are a few scratches, but man did it hold up to the abuse. The outside looks really good still, although I wished I had put a coat of clear over it to stop the fading. UV rays down here are bad. So if you have a trail Jeep and are looking for a Cheap Way to paint it, this might be for you. The link below has some pictures of it on my build page. I will be doing the same to the body of my Jeep hopefully soon.
