So heres where I'm at, jeeps "almost done" (the list never ends). My body mount bushings are shot and I'm pretty sure I'm missing one or two. Iv'e been leaning toward the 1" polyurethane lift for looks and functionality (anythings better than som missing)but after reading what i found online I'm leaning toward just OEM rubber bushings. Any advice would be great. 73 CJ5 , 31" tires (35" when these wear out), 2.5" skyjacker lift. heavy duty grease-able shackles, 1.25" wheel spacers.

:)
The aftermarket Polyurethane are much better than an OEM Rubber bushing. They have a memory and will compress and return to near there original thickness for years........use a little of the supplied lube on each bushing and you'll enjoy the ride........they also should not be over tightened.

:D:D:D:D

I went with the poly 1 inch since i'm only hunting about 3.5 inches of total lift with minimal modifications to drive line angles etc when I'm done (so 2.5 inch spring lift). Although, I'm not sure if 35's would fit under there without rubbing some. I like the poly because I'm assuming I'll never have to change them again, lol.

The body lift went in my 84 with no mods to linkages or lines and minimal time. Although, my clutch linkage would have been out if I didn't have taller than stock motor and Transmission mounts. Maybe some guys with closer to your year and model will chime in on their experiences with common issues on the one inch lift. Although, there are tons of posts on it too I'm sure.

Mine took about 3 hours or so total to install, but there was a lot of stopping to do other :dung: cause I think I was bbq'ing at the time haha. Alot of people don't like the body lifts, but if they're modest (not 3 inches lol) I really like the way they look on the jeep and they give a little more room when working on stuff close to the frame rails. The other upside to poly is grease/oil won't eat them away like it will rubber.

People also say they ride a bit stiffer, but jeeps just ride that way to me so I can't really tell. My current rig was purchased with a blown motor and i swapped the body mounts before the new motor was finished so I don't have a before/after. My only comparison is a couple 60's CJ5 's I had back in the day so this one seems to ride smoother, but I think it would no matter what.

In the end I'm sure you'd be happy with either type. Good luck. After you decide, post back and let us know which one you did and how they ride.

the absolute perfect answer. everyone was destroying them and i was just looking for an actual review of the look lol wasn't trying to make a sky scrapper. Thanks for calls help!
