Does anyone have a pic of a rear drum brake set up on a 81 cj or could point me to a post with one l would be helped out huge thanks

A good repair manual like a Hayne's should have one.

I have but they do not do a good job of showing it. The exploded view leaves something to desire

There is a factory service manual in the docs section in this forum that could help. Those computer loaded books are a pain to work with though, I was fortunate enough to buy an over the counter fsm many years ago, it was $50.00.

You guys rock thank you I had it right but the pictures confirm. one of the new springs was a bit out so i had to use the old one. The two new safety cables are short at the tie in. I will get the main and see what happens. The brake bracket is of center. Does the long side go to the pass side cable.
