I got my Jeep back today, and it appears to be fixed. The shop did find that the passenger side bearing had collapsed and the driver side was going as well. No real reason could be found as to why that would happen. I drove it about 30 miles, and checked the temperatures which were just over 100 degrees on both sides after a combination of interstate and stop and go driving. So it looks as though the problem is solved. Thanks again for all of your ideas as I tried to find the source of the overheating rear drums.
