I feel pretty stupid having to ask this question but here goes.

My manual brakes were working great on my 77 CJ7 before replacing rubber lines with extended stainless lines.

After going through the process of bleeding farthest away first then working our way to the driver's side front last we bled them until no more air came out. But still there are absolutely no brakes unless you pump them up 8 or 9 times. We have went through the bleeding process 3 times now but still no luck. The pedal goes right to the floor.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you might have air in your master cylinder and you will need to bench bleed it

Other than the suggestion of bleeding the MC, are you by chance sucking air back into the lines after each pump of the brakes?

My bet...

OP-Described in detail your bleeding routine.
Do you 'bleed' into a jar with Brake fluid in it, to keep from sucking air back into the line?

The last time I had a bleeding problem ... that sounds funny :) ... I tried every bleeding method in the book regular brake pedal bleeding, reverse bleeding, gravity bleeding, vacuum bleeding, nothing worked. It turned out to be a bad master cylinder. The replacement bled exactly as expected. You might have a bad master cylinder.

Or a bad bleeding kit. I just had to replace mine as it was not making a good seal on the bleeders and air was getting in and getting INTO the lines. Yes I could have cut the tube shorter, but I also needed new connectors for MC bleeding so I just got a new set. Had MC bled in three pumps and lines bled in minutes.

Start with the fronts first, then rears, then fronts again. Resets the proportioning valve.

Pump the brakes up, hold pressure on the pedal, helper backs bleeding valve off, when pedal reaches floor hold it there, when helper screws bleeder valve back in release pedal ...... repeat as necessary ...... I do not own a "bleeding kit" as I find them to be unnecessary ..... I have been bleeding brakes this way for nearly 45 years and it always works

Just finished bleeding the MC ..... re bled the brakes but still no joy ..... if the MC was bad would that not have shown up when I bled it?

They are useless. I still just use the tube and the canister and do it as you say with my helper. But the kit did help immensely with the MC when I did it last.

Not necessarily mine bench bled with no difficulty. Worked for days trying this and that always being told I was doing something wrong. Took the MC back for exchange, just as had happened many times before, bled the brakes in minutes. Consider taking the MC back or geting a new one.

What brand MC is this?
You are using DOT 3 fluid, correct.

I do not know the MC brand, just got the Jeep a few months ago. It was working fine before the lines were replaced.

Yes, Using DOT3 fluid.

You MUST keep the front and rear reservoirs filled when doing the bleed'n.
Describe how you did bleed the system.
OLG

They were kept full .......

Oops I must have missed the part about the MC working fine before. You have a leak some where. Check the connections on your new lines, somethings is more than likely sucking air.
