Carb Upgrade

My 1bl carb is . I'm probably not going to try to rebuild it because it's been sitting for years and looks pretty seized up. I was reading on vin decoding sites about a 2bl carb for the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Will that provide any bump in performance or allow it to breathe deeper?

Also, what about spacers? Are they just snake oil? What about the ones that are on an angle that are supposed to help with hill climbs?

two barrel good, spacers I don't think so.

to change to two BBL carb you will need an intake and exhaust manifold because nothing is ever as easy as it first looks.

I was hoping that the factory 2bbl was a bolt on. :-(

it is, it bolts right on to the factory 2 bbbl manifold.

two bbl manifold not too hard to find or too expencsive.
