Okay folks this should be simple, I've watched a YouTube video or two and simple enough. You angle it up a bit, little pressure from the spring and it's on. When i tried it, it does not want to go in straight and it's like I need to tighten down the firewall side bolt to get it in parallel. Should I just apply a little force to it or be careful? Any thoughts?

I would suggest actuating the pump to get the feel for just how much pressure you have to apply to get it in position.

Is there a specific crank position for installing? Or does it not matter? I'm wondering if it's hitting the lobe that actuated it, straight on.

Not really, but if you were to install it at a location where the camshaft lobe would be in a position where the least amount of pump arm travel is required to put the pump in position, this would make your bolts start a bit easier.

Okay, I'm an idiot. It goes this way. That's what happens when you don't get uninterrupted time to work. Another stupid question should you pre-lubricate this with anything?
