I don't think it's very well advertised. Brother-in-law knew about it and asked if we wanted to go. You have to go inside the gate to get to it. No big hastle to get in.

Also great aviation museum at Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola. My grandfather earned his wings there about 100 years ago. Also great museum here in N O. The WWII

I think we're going to hit that one up when we get over that way. We're headed east from Mississippi.

Sorry. It's the HL Brimley not USS Brimley.

Nice pics! Yeah, I’d go for the battleship as well. Buddy of mine was a submariner..... Takes a special personality for that.

I have been on that WWII sub. Almost claustrophobic. The subs today are huge compared to that one.

One thing cool about that battle ship is the Boy Scouts get to stay over nights on it.

Did they finish the rust repairs on USS drum?

I got to see them a few years ago really neat

Brother-in-law spent a night on the ship with boy scouts a few years ago. One room still has a bunch of boy scout stuff in it so I presume they still do.

Still doing rust repair on the drum. There's a bunch of holes cut in the side.

I see several new items at the naval museum. The cars for one. Thanks foe posting the light house stuff. That is one I need to go too. My grandfather back in 1919 approximately was a naval aviator there at Pensacola NAS. Back in those days when your engine was worked on / overhauled the mechanic rode with you during the test flight. They both crashed into Pensacola bay and the light house keeper rowed out and both men saved my grandfather. With no real medicine or much else back in the day, he was in hospital for almost 6 months. I'm lucky I'm even here,
Great story. Good thing the keeper saw it.

I asked a young lady that was a guide if they harvested any of them and she acted a little upset. Said it was a refuge and the aligators stayed until they died of old age.
