Charging Idiot Light

Trying to clean-up my wiring for a 1969 CJ5 ....Can someone share the wring route for the charging idiot light. I cannot get the idiot light on - hopefully I'm not the idiot. The wiring diagrams I have from the support manual are worthless for the insturmrnt cluster related to the idiot lights (oil and amp).

I verfired continuity between the ignition switch and the light - all good. If I jumper power to the grey wire on the alternator the light comes on. But it will not light when I turn my ignition key to on.

Alternator issue?

A bad alternator should turn the light on.
Normally the light is off. How are you testing it?
You should turn the ignition switch to run without starting the engine. The alternator light should be on then.

Could it just be a burnt out lamp? I know that's got me more than once.

not to hijack the thread, but what size is said lamp? my factory service manual wont be here till after christmas

Found the issue....The small (+) wire had broke off from the instrument panel. Guessing it happened while I was changing the start switch. It was perfect5 timing to find the problem with the new 12" of snow that dropped overnight. Had fun all day in the Jeep!!!!! Thanks for all the help.
