I am installing a new MC 2150 carb and broke the copper tube that feeds into the carb therostat (see attached image). What is that tube called since I will have to buy a new one? Also, does anyone know how to remove the old one? It seems rusted into place, and I don't want to tug on it too hard because I don't want to break what's left.

Any suggestions on how to proceed are welcome.

Thanks!

You're right, it's called a heat tube. I've never found another one specifically for the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l either. I doubt like heck you could get it out either, it's copper, it's soft enough you should be able to bend it back in to shape.

I can say, that I've never had one hooked up to any of the Motorcraft/Autolite carbs that I've ran, and I've never had an issue with the choke working correctly. If you want one, I've found a couple places that sell them, you'll just have to make it work to the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l / MC2100 set up.
