Tried the wiper, lights and turn signals everything worked. Also tried holding the key longer in the start position to see if the engine would stay running, actually dies before the key is released. I will trace the ignition wires this weekend. Thanks for all the assistance. Not very good at it yet but really enjoy working on this jeep.

Now you know where the problem is.
If your not getting voltage at the coil with key on it's the ignition wire that feeds the BR wire, or dirty dash plug.
With key on check the ignition terminal on the switch then move to the passenger cabin side of the dash plug for 12v
If you don't have power the problem resides somewhere between the ignition switch to the plug.
If you have 12v check the engine side of the plug
No power, clean the plug and try again.
You already installed a new BR wire so once you have power to it you should then have 5v-7v at the + coil with key on.

Checked the ignition wire with the key on and had 12 volts coming in. I then checked the wiring harness at the firewall where the ignition wire would meet the resistance wire still with the key on, No reading at all. Is it the same wire that starts the jeep that keeps it running when the key is released after turning it all the way to crank the engine? I don't understand why I had voltage at the coil when turning the engine over but no reading when the key was released.

You skipped a test!
Test for 12v at the passenger cabin side of the plug as well.
This is the ignition wire you are testing, you need this to keep the engine running.

Starting and running is two different circuits.
The starting circuit goes from the S on your ignition switch to S side of the solenoid.
When you turn your key to start it sends 12v to the solenoid which then send voltage to the starter to crank the engine.
It also sends 12v to the coil.
After the engine starts you release the key to the on position
The on position is the ignition to the coil that keeps the engine running.
