Im new to the cj,restoring a 78 CJ5 , I was wondering if the CJ7 softops will fit my cj and if any modification is needed to do so?
 
No, a CJ7 top will not fit on a CJ5 . A CJ7 is 10(ish) inches longer than a CJ5.
