I have a CJ7 with a swapped in GM Turbo 400 and Dana 20 Transfer Case , both from a FSJ (different than a CJ Dana 20 ) It currently has a modified FSJ "grease box" type shifter with the U shift pattern. My Jeep also has a 1" body lift. The PO bent the extension tube and made some S shaped shift rods so that the shift leaver came out of the floor in the stock CJ location. It would be great if the shifter worked like it should but it doesn't and everything I find says that they are junk and parts are not available to rebuild them. So, I would like to know if anyone out there has the same set up, and what shifter set up you are using. I would really like to see where the shifter comes out of the floor. I looking at a JB Fab Twin Stick set up but they only have set-ups for stock vehicle configurations....

the T400 adds lots of length....
doubtful you'll get the shifter close to the stock location
this is why the J series had the long box u shifter
I'd look for a 74-79 CJ Dana 20 shift set-up
then see how close to factory positioning it's gonna be
find a CJ local to you and take some notes and measurements from that

The CJ 20's are different, they have uneven shift rails with horizontal slots. The FSJ 20 has even length rails and vertical slots...
