CJ5 or CJ7?

Looks like a 7 to me

Well at one time it was a CJ7 :D

Hey clay44, I'll elaborate on what our other members are saying. That rig really looks like it has a SOA, tube front fenders and cut down rear quarters. you could have one hell of an off road rig there! :)

Are SOA fenders bad? Just purchased it, so I'm not really sure what all I've got. What i know it has: 5.0 V8 new motor, 37 inch tires, rancho shocks, and front & rear air lockers. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

That thing looks SOA on lift springs judging from the fact those are 37's on there...that thing has way more lift then just a standard SOA. Also appears to be some body lift (?)

It's your "typical" 7 with comp cut rear fenders, body armor, and what appears to be simple flat-fendering up front. Nothing wrong with the way the body was put together, but to me, that is way too much lift providing a scary center of gravity.

How does it ride? Take a bunch of pictures for us and post em.:chug:

SOA stands for Spring Over Axle conversion. Normally the springs go under the axles. A SOA conversion will lift a jeep several inches.
The tube fenders are a separate mod.
All in all someone spent a lot of time modifying that jeep. If it was done right it could be a hell of an off-roader.

looks like previous owner also did a shackle reversal on the front. great looking rig wish mine looked that good.

nice rig :chug: looks like it has ford shock towers to
