Does anyone have a good picture of how the pivot ball fork and springs all go together inside the housing. Or good explanation. 84 CJ7 5 speed. I did not get good pictures before removing and the manual are a little iffy

ill do my best as i dont have a pic.
the ball sits on top of the pedestal usually a lil grease will help hold it in place while u get the fork on.

the fork clips into the back of the throw out bearing then pivots on the ball. this is all inside the bell housing.

outside the bell housing its pretty straight forward your clutch pedal is attached to the "Z" bar (the bar connected to the side of the block and top of the frame) this i can get a pic of.

from the "Z" bar is another rod that sits in the little indentation on the shift fork.

finally the spring connects to a little hole about in the middle of the fork and attaches to the bell housing for return action.

i will post pics in a few minutes

Sry for the crappy pic's

Thx that helps. I assume the ball just sits in the casting inside the housing
