As I have posted before I have three CJ's One is a 77-CJ5 , 79-CJ7 , and an 84 CJ7 . My son wrecked the CJ5 in a high speed roll over trying to impress the girls, he didn't that night, broke his back in four places. He's doing fine and is back to work. Here are a few pictures of our build/ rebuild.

Here is what it looked like after we built it the first time.

Here is what it looked like after trying to impress the girls (by the way he didn't get any for over 12 weeks):D

After a lot of pounding and more pounding, and cutting, welding and grinding we got it to this stage once again.

After more pounding, cutting and welding, then some cold ones and paint we got it to where it is now.

It's together in time to go to the annual Cal-4 Molina run. It was just one week after last years run that he rolled it. The old CJ's are hard to kill.

Glad to hear your boy is OK, but yea, x2 on the paint work...:)

The boy wanted a camo paint job, he picked the colors and and we just went with it. Not my first choice, but then I am not driving it any more.

I do love those tube fenders. Want to make me a set? :)

There easy to make, only took about 4 hours from the time we had the tube on the garage floor until they were ready to paint. We used aluminum for the tins becuase it was easy to cut on the band saw.

So far I have been doing a lot of them for the guy's here locally. Been trading jobs for tools, dies, and other things needed. Money is nice but I would just buy another tool or some kind of material with it.

Thanks, turns out the girls really like as well, he's gotten lots of attention from them. My son made it to the 34th California Central Valley Molina Ghost run last weekend which is one week short of when he rolled it. He is very skitish right now behind the wheel and will have to stick to the bunny trails for awhile.
