Does anybody have any thoughts on Dana 300 cable shifters? My current Combination 465/300 clocked on a Novak adapter puts my twin stick at an awkward position and interfering with the Transmission shifter. I was going too bend them but started looking into cable shifters. Is one particular brand better?
 
I've never seen any personally to comment first hand, but I assume it would be a bit difficult to get a cable system to work for the shifter... I know most cable actuated systems have a spring back system as pushing with a cable doesn't work as great as pulling.

When I googled it though, it does appear to be a thing you can do. The kit from BJ's looks nice...

and if I remember right, their stuff is pretty well made and gets good reviews etc...

Maybe someone with one will chime in with better options.

I know with my Transmission swap and Dana 20 I custom made linkage - worked out well, but still need to have a straight-ish line to each point.

Yeh I've seen that shifter before. Sold by several different suppliers. If you look at it closley it's made by jb fab. The sell it as a buggy style shifter they also have one sold as a billet style. I would assume that regardless of who is selling it it would be the same as far as hardware and materials were concerned but I've seen some things that looked the same but had plastic instead of bronze bushings and or other cost cutting measures. I would rather spend a little more once than a little less twice.
 
I always get JB and BJ mixed up - you're right - meant JB fab has pretty good name - used (with customized adaption) some of their twin stick kit for my 20 build.

I agree with you on the pay a little extra for some things. With my 74, just about everything kit or not needs customization, so if I can build it, i do - that's my only exception...

I contemplated building my own. I've got a couple of aluminum circletrack shifters ant cables are available pretty much everywhere. But 300 bucks and bolt it in sounds so much easier. Guess I'm getting lazy.
 
I found this in the search as I am looking to flip a 300 and use cable shifters. Has anyone used them and do the JB Fab shifters function well?
 
Although I do have a ARB and tank stashed for this build air shift would be low in the priority list at this point. I saw there were a few manufacturers of cable shifters. Curious if anyone actually used one and how well it performs. Budget is dictating the use of my 4-1 300 vs atlas and flipping it opens up the world of super duty axles. I just saved a set from being scrapped and when the neighbor is done with the f250 I sold him a few years ago I can get them back for pennies.
