Can't seem to figure out what's wrong with my Hard top dome light, any advice is appreciated.

My dome and interior lights (under dash) have been working fine until recently, I think they are on the same circuit (could be wrong about that). However, my dashboard instrument panel lights we working only half the time so i changed out the headlight switch. The instrument panel lights are now working (except for the oil pressure light). Now the dome light isn't working, the under dash lights are working fine. Any idea what's the issue?

Looking at a '80-'83 wiring schematic, the dome light turns on at the light switch by grounding it out and there is an orange hot line going to the light. This hot line does have a 20 amp fuse at the fuse panel. So, check the fuse at the dome/ctsy location and weather you have a constant 12v. at the orange wire at the light. So, just to make sure installing the new light switch fixed the dash lights. Last time I turned on my lights, the dash lights did flicker quite a bit and I was thinking that it could be the switch.

Dome & courtesy both circuits are same orange wire, the problem is ground wire or wire #51 (org) between the connector & the dome light or bulb.
As for the oil it is the bulb, ground or the orange wire, to check pull out and plug one of the others in its place, I am talking the whole thing bulb w/housing.

Hey thanks a lot for the advice. Yes changing the headlight switch fixed the dash lights. my switch was in bad shape, only cost $10.
