I have removed the smog equip from my CJ7 '86... thu still have the egr and o2 sensor.

Are there any issues with installing a plate on the egr and a bolt in the o2 sensor hole?

I have been experiencing intermittent loss of power at highway speed and was told that it might be loss of vacuum from the egr.

Thank you for your imput.

I would suggest hooking back up the egr, as it will make your cylinders and valves burn cooler. The o2 sensor will serve as a good hole plug as it is.

I agree the egr doesn't reduce power and does help the engine.

so you don't think that the egr would be a vacuum leak source? I can sure hook it back up

Have you done the Nutter Bypass? If not by just unhooking stuff like the O2 sensor it's going to make it run bad.

A worn out egr could be a source of a vacumn leak, and if you do not have the Nutter by pass, I don't think the engine will run at all. I am sure you have pulled the computer out.
