I have an 86 CJ7 jeep with an electrical choke and it is not idealing like it should. It floods out when I take off from a stop. Can I adjust it or do I need to take it to a mechanic? Advice please. Thank you.
Doesn't seem the choke is the issue unless it's not opening all the way up once warm. If the choke is opened up when warm, you have another issue. Perhaps jet(s) need adjusting and/or accelerator pump. If the choke is not fully opening when warm, then yes it needs adjusting so that it does open up properly. Or are you trying to take off while the engine is still cold and the choke is partially closed?
