Engine mounts location

So I'm getting ready to put me engine in. Logic would dictate that the mount pins go in the middle of each bracket. I'm not convinced and can't find a good picture. 6 cyl AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Any enlightenment?

I have a '79 CJ7 with the I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . This is the best picture I could find. Sorry it is only one side. I did not remove mine when I did the cleanup and repaint. Hope it helps some.

Weithman5 is right, Your build does look great so far.

Before I swapped my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l out for the GM 4.3 v6, if I remember correctly, the bolt was in the center of the engine mounts. To be sure I'd have to go through my photos on my puter. By I won't have time for awhile. So hopefully, someone else can upload photos of theirs.

Here is a photo I found in the Haynes 1949-1986 CM jeep repair manual.
The photo is for I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engine mount. Not sure if it is accurate but it shows the bolt goes in the side hole not middle for the one mount.

I'd say if you have a cherry picker, you could move the engine around in the engine bay until everything lines up (driveshafts, tyranny tcase) if you have everything that is. I don't think it will be too difficult once you get everything assembled.
