engine/trans change question

Hello everyone...
I have my 86 CJ7 that I am doing an engine change on. I have a small block Chevy V8 (307) that I am going to use and was wondering if my B.W. T-5 Transmission and B.W. 300 Transfer Case would hold up to the approx 200 -225 h.p. engine. I am also swapping axles to full size mid 80`s blazer axles with 4.88 gearing. My Cj will be used mainly for running out in the hills and down the local highways to get to the different areas here in eastern Arizona. Also, I will be running 36x12.5x16.5 Goodyear MTR`s. I guess my big question is will the Transmission and Transfer Case hold up or grenade on me... if the Transmission won't hold up I have a Chevy turbo 350 that I could mate to the 307.

The short answer is no, the T-5 will be toast in short order but the Dana 300 will hold up. (Be Forewarned, I’m going to get on my soap box now) Unfortunately with your plans one more CJ bites the dust; there are so few good CJs left. Keep your Jeep, Jeep or pick up a YJ and destroy that, there are plenty of then available. (Climbing down from soap box now.)

If you use the TH350 you will need an adapter for the Dana 300 .
