What is everyone using for bolts and washers for the exhaust? When I removed the intake & exhaust manifolds I found multiple types of washers in various amounts on various bolts and I am going to put new stuff on. I am looking at the Stage 8 setup and was curious what you guys are using.

I made about half of mine to cover the 4.0 intake and used the heavy cup washers that were there originally.

I also used studs rather than bolts, I think it is easier to line everything up. I also like to assemble head and manifolds before putting the head on the block. There are a couple of nuts/bolts that are impossible to torque otherwise.:D

Anyone know the bolt size and thread for the 258?

They are two different sizes on my 1980. One is 5/16ths? (1/2" wrench) and the other is whatever uses a 9/16" wrench.

Can't help you on lengths, mine is back together and staying that way if I can help it...:D

Studs are the way to go. They hold the gasket while you install the manifolds. I got a package from O'rielly that had an assortment.

Do you remember what size the studs were? I think they should be 3/8 16 but I cant remember.
