Factory 304 V8 frame mount question

I know this has been hatched a long time ago but Just wanting to make sure I am correct before doing the swap.

I have AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with these mounts:


I will use the smaller mount for the drivers side using the large two holes as is no drilling right?

I also have this mount that I will use on the right side as is:


I also see these on Ebay for the AMC 304 and they are like the set I had a long time ago that came in a CJ5 factory.


Notice the holes are aligned center of the brackets. The newer ones are slightly to the rear. If I use both my brackets I assume they will compensate to center the engine??

Are you saying you plan to use one of the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l brackets on one side and a replacement one on the other? Not sure if I'm understanding correctly.

I have the smaller AMC 304 mount; guess I tossed the bigger one on accident.

If you want I can compare measurements with you.

Yes, I will use the existing AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l drivers side bracket (small one in first picture) and replace the passenger side with bracket in second picture.

Is this the same setup as you have jason?

No, I put a Ford V8 in mine so i used some aftermarket ones.

Im guessing you read somewhere that the drivers side one is the same for AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and AMC 304 ?

Sorry I cant remember which way they go but yes one of the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l mounts is the same as the V-8 mount so all you need to do is replace the other side with the proper one. I do believe the driver side is the right one.
