Fan Shroud for LS Swap

Hey all,

I’ve been running my LS powered CJ7 for 2.5 years with a 16” single electric fan. After a trip to Colorado and some high altitude 4-Low crawling I decided to go back to the stock LS clutch fan. I have the stock CJ shroud but it isn’t quite deep enough (see image). Has anyone else used a different shroud and had better success or know of a shroud that is deeper but would fit with little modification?

Can you put a spacer between the clutch and the pulley?

The electric fan can’t move enough air at altitude.

No one makes a spacer for the LS style fan. I am looking at CJ/YJ/TJ 4cyl fan shrouds as they are much deeper. Does anyone know if they have the same size opening (meaning the rectangular section for the core) as the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l or AMC 304 fan shrouds?

I have one on my jeep. Not much of a rectangular shape. Pretty much round. The actual 4 bolts where it bolts to the bracket of the radiator is pretty much square to rectangular, but the opening is pretty round

Go to a metal shop and get some lightweight aluminium sheet and make an extention to around the shroud to enclose the fan.

I did this over the last two days. Looks great! Will see how it works
