I'm having the motor rebuilt for the jeep and after pulling the intake off, I see these holes in the bottom of the lifter valley. Is this normal? 2 of them seem like they were drilled and the other 2 have rough edges....anybody seen this before?

Oil drain drainback holes. There are a few drilling mods that can be done in that area that I found on the net, but those are pretty big holes to be done with a drill motor. I would think it was an add on done at the factory to help lubrication.

Thanks Torxhead.., should I have any other oil mods done?

I don't have any info on the oiling info on the AMC 304 . So, all I can suggest is searching around on the net, as what little I did it seemed to go both ways between it has a great oiling system to to having mods needed. Maybe one one the AMC 304 guys on this forum can help.
