Looking to put a set of flowmasters on my 1979 CJ AMC 304 project. It has headers on it now with no exhaust. Before I buy a set would the inlet and out let be off centered? I want to run the pipes to the rear of the jeep. Also what diameter is recommended? 2 and 1/4? Its just a stock AMC 304 . Also opinions on the 40 series or the super 40"s. Appreciate any and all info.

I like the 40 series. You going duals? or 2 to 1 to 2, etc.
I'd go center on the inlet and outlet but your muffler guy would be the best to ask
unless you fitting it yourself then it's up to you.

I'm going 40 series now. I'm going to do the exhaust myself except maybe where it goes over the axle. Yes I'm going duals. I was thinking offset on the inlet because the headers on it now are right up against the frame rails. The outlet I'm not sure what is the best route. I was hoping some one here had a pic of their exhaust setup or more info because it sure looks tight around the fuel tank. Thanks for the reply BrockGrimes...

I have series 40's and you do need side inlet with center outlet. The two exiting pipes over the axles will fit between the frame and the leaf spring just fine. Mine exit right next to the shackles. The 40's are pretty loud when getting on the gas. A little louder than I like but they aren't too bad at idle. I dont have any pictures right now but I will try to get some for you.
