Ok, my brothers CJ7 has a traditional mechanical fuel pump that goes to a filter which splits into two lines. One goes to the carb and the other I assume goes back to the tank. Maybe I'm totally wrong but the Jeeps I owned did not circulate fuel. I thought circulating fuel was more for electric fuel pumps. Please inform me!

Cheers,

Cheers,

They're supposed to have the dual outlet filter. The filter should be oriented so that the "outer" outlet (not the center one) is at the 12:00 o'clock position and that line returns to the fuel tank. The center outlet goes to the carb. Theory is the return line being at the 12:00 o'clock position allows any air in the line (vapor) from reaching the carb. GREATLY reduces vapor lock.

No problem. Many have used fuel filters with only one outlet and have never had a problem. I have had vapor lock issues and it's a cheap way to minimize the chances.......

Just don't put that filter close to the exhaust as the factory did. Known source of many engine fires.

Stuck mine over the intake
