I had to remove my rear axle to weld on new spring perches due to rust, so I figured I might as well swap out the axles to 1 piece axles. I ordered the G2 kit off amazon, and my biggest question is weather I place the backing plates on before I press the bearings on or not.

I used the search feature, but nothing came up under g2.
 
I didn’t install the G2 axles but the kit that I installed many years ago did require backing plates on first, that was a bit of a pain having to take the brakes apart

Make sure you put the correct backing plate on the correct side. Ask me how I know this :(

Also, let me add that the bearing is fitted in the correct position/direction
There will be detailed instructions with the axles.

And, it never hurts to take a bunch of pictures as you disassemble, so you don't have to rely on memory when reassembling.
