Got'er started. A year and a half of work, beginning to come to a finish.

It's been ages since I've posted here, but if any of you remember, I've been working on a CJ7 .
The original AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l was completely shot. Burned tons of oil, knocked badly, bearings shot, lousy compression.... I decided it was beyond being worth repairing.

Well, along with the engine, I also replaced the body and the fenders. As they were rotted out.


Today, I finally started up the new (well, used with 80k miles on it..)
It runs like , but I expected that with the timing being way off, and the exhaust not hooked up, but at least it started!

A year and a half of work is finally paying off.

Actually I ended up selling that one, but I do have another old horn I'm going to use.

I started mine yesterday. I guess the fuel pump went bad after sitiing a couple months. It was only $16 I guess it could have been worse. It's a great feeling huh?

I've still got a list of stuff to do before it's roadworthy, but just the fact that the list is actually short enough now that I can write it down, and even remember most every detail left that has to be done, is certainly a good feeling!
