It's been ages since I've posted here, but if any of you remember, I've been working on a CJ7 .
The original AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l was completely shot. Burned tons of oil, knocked badly, bearings shot, lousy compression.... I decided it was beyond being worth repairing.

Well, along with the engine, I also replaced the body and the fenders. As they were rotted out.

Today, I finally started up the new (well, used with 80k miles on it..)
It runs like :dung:, but I expected that with the timing being way off, and the exhaust not hooked up, but at least it started!

A year and a half of work is finally paying off.

Pirty cool. You gonna put that OOGA horn on the Jeep?

Good to see it come to life. And good for you for sticking with it!

I started mine yesterday. I guess the fuel pump went bad after sitiing a couple months. It was only $16 I guess it could have been worse. It's a great feeling huh?

Feels real good doesn't it

Now just wait until the first road test.

Messed with the timing some and got it running much better yesterday.

I've still got a list of stuff to do before it's roadworthy, but just the fact that the list is actually short enough now that I can write it down, and even remember most every detail left that has to be done, is certainly a good feeling! :D
