Any tips or things I need to watch out for when removing the grill on my CJ7 ? It looks pretty straightforward to me but I have come to learn that nothing is ever as straightforward as it first appears when working on a 40 year old vehicle.

spray a good penetrating oil on all the bolts and take ur time. the center bottom bolt will more than likely spin

Yeah, I figured I would start spraying it with PB Blaster a couple days before I go to pull it. I guess I should plan on cutting the center bottom one out and fabbing a replacement?

no need. just bend up the center flap and grab a hold of the set nut with chanel locks or vise grips

Thanks for the tip. I will be getting into it the week after Easter with my niece, a budding CJ7 mechanic. She helped me do my one piece rear axle conversion last year.
