Im considering parting with the hardtop and factory full doors from my 83 CJ7 . Ive searched ebay and CL, found lots of tops but only one set of doors in bad shape. The doors are very nice, straight,no rust and 100% complete. The top is faded and a bit dirty, but 100% complete. Anyone care to venture what their worth?

The doors are only worth about $20 a piece but to help out a fellow Jeeper I'll give you $25 a piece to get them out of your hair. Plus I'll pay shipping (I cashed in some aluminum cans yesterday):D:chug:

price varies and is entirely dependent on condition. If you doors are immaculate and shiny I have seen people ask up to 500 for the doors on craigslist. I have seen tops go from AMC 150 to 800 dollars asking price as well. You should post pictures of your top and doors if you would like everyone on here to give you a good ball park of what your stuff is worth.

Pa is right, actually I might drive to you and pick them up so you don't have to haul them to the shipping center.;) Really though, guyyouknow is correct, doors sell for as much as 500-700 and tops as high as 1300. Probably more or less depending on who's in the market when you sell them.

In my area, $300 is the avg for doors, they vary cheaper for ones that need work, and $500 for perfect. I've seen people ask more, but $3-350 is the average rate.

Hard tops also vary from $AMC 150 to $400 for perfect. YMMV

Well, if they're later style paddle doors they will also fit a YJ (the hardtop might need some work to work with a YJ tailgate, but doors are the same)

Around here they USED to run $700-$1K for top and doors, but lately they've been going for more. I would ask $1200-1500, ad "OBO" to the ad, and see what kind of offers you get. I would say anything around $1K you did ok.

Tops alone people want $300-500, doors are usually a hair more $400-700 IF IN GOOD SHAPE. The old twist handle doors or beat up junk are much much cheaper

I'm still thinkin' you should take my offer and be rid of them. But that's just me. ;)

anyone know about how much it is to get a good repaint on some hard doors? Trying to decide if it is worth my time to repaint or just look for some really good condition doors to pop up for like 500+ bucks .

Yes I am hijacking the thread... At least until OP posts pics.

Yep, paddle style handles. Now your talkin the price range I was thinking. Still on the fence about parting with them though. Being Im in Calif where everything is over priced maybe when I do decide they'll pay for new rims and a new rear diff setup. :D

Round my neck of the wood you cant get a shop to even set hands on a spray gun for less then a grand. Locals wanted 5K to paint a 68 F250 after I stripped it. I hauled it out to Bakersfield where anything goes and had it painted for under $400. BTW, my doors are Jeep metallic brown and the top is nutmeg, case ya wondered ;)

Value is so subjective. One man's "rip-off" is another man's "deal of the century."

If you're on the fence about selling them, and if you have the space to keep them out of the way and preserved, I'd say "save 'em," 'cuz they ain't makin' em any more." Sure, they might "fit a YJ," but someone, somewhere, will value them more because they left the factory on a CJ.

They're only going to get harder to find. At the same time, the market is only going to get smaller, but perhaps more competitive. I'd hang on to 'em if I were you, if I had the space and if I didn't need the spare cash.

I know you mentioned you might fund an upgrade with the proceeds. If you're not on the verge of retirement - like me - then consider cutting back on spending and fund the upgrade with savings, not assets liquidation.
