I'm trying to rewire a 3 speed heater motor on 79 CJ5 . I have a 3 speed dash switch, but only one connection on the heater motor. I did find a 3 prong resistor switch on the right side heat duct. Does this hook up to the dash switch and how.
Thanks

In the Hayne's Jeep CJ manual, the '79 wiring diagram is laid out pretty good with locations given. I would suggest that if you can't find any other source for the info you want.

if your wiring is intact for color codes there I think is a red wire that goes (unsure on 79) that feeds power from fuse or bulk head connection to the heater switch then there are 2 brown wires and 1 tan wire off the switch to the resistor , then another tan wire off the resistor side that feeds to the motor , its the tan wire from the switch to resistor that splits off the resistor as another tan wire that feeds the motor for power at low then the 2 brown wires speed it up for 2nd speed an 3 speed at least thats what I take from the diagram ,, the haynes repair manual will have a good diagram as this is what I got this from but the original wire colors need to be present , and will show how it goes to the plug
