Trying to delete. Found introductions page.

Hey all! Just thought I'd drop a line and introduce myself.

I am just starting to think about my first Jeep build and am navigating around the forums and blogs getting info. Looked for a "new member section" but couldn't find it, so I figured MISC discussion is a good a place as any.

On to my proposed build.

I am looking into an early 80's CJ7 for the body (no particular reason, other than the fact I like to way they look). I am also a big v8 guy, so there will be an engine conversion. As stated earlier, this is my first jeep build (though not my first rodeo in engine swaps and big-boy toys).

My thoughts so far, and please feel free to offer insights, is a '73-'79 chevy 3/4 ton pickup for the organ donations. Using the carb 350 SBC, the sm465 4-speed, potentially a Dana 20 Transfer Case (though that is up for debate), the front axle (which from what I understand is usually a Dana 44 ?), the rear 14 bolt ff axle, converting them to disc brakes (cause aint nobody got time for drums lol), a 4" suspension lift, with a 2" body lift (again, up for debate), and 35 or 37" tires.

Some of the issues I can foresee are having a too sort a drive line, maybe not enough room for the tranny and Transfer Case without heavy modification, and radiator size.

The vehicle will mostly stay off the road. I will be traveling to Arkansas for some of the trails that my buddy keeps telling me about, and mostly sticking to Ozark mountains. A potential trip to CO for some trails out there is in the future.

Let me know what you think, or if you have ever done this. Or, if you know someone that has done this.
