Hello All

New member here. I've enjoyed surfing the forum and trying to learn about what engine is in my mid 1960's Jeep.

I received it as a hand me down from my father in-law. I believe it's 1966 CJ5 Tuxedo Park Park, however not 100% certain yet. It has been sitting for 10-12 yrs and trying to get some parts together for a tune up. My father in-law tells me it's a Dauntless Buick 225 V6 , however he does not know what year or model of car it came from.

I searched the forums and also tried Google with no luck.

The casting numbers on the rear top appear to be "B1375182"
He thinks the engine is from a 1970's Buick.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer and sorry for the Limited info.

How about some pictures of the engine and engine bay. Most of the guys around here are not into the number game. There really isn't a lot of documentation on the early CJ5 's as far as numbers go.I have some jeep (buick) v6 engines but never bothered to write down any I.D. Do you have a vin for the Tuxedo Park Park. mike

The vin number will tell you if it is a Tuxedo Park Park and whether it was a V-6 or 4 cyl.

Hello again

My father in-law told me it's a 1966 model (he hasn't located the title yet) and was originally equipped with a 4 cyl. It already had the V6 engine when he purchased it and he thinks the engine came from an early model Buick.
Strange thing is that I find the "Tuxedo Park Park IV" was offered in 1965, so not too sure it's a 1966 model.
Maybe someone just placed the emblems on the sides of the hood?

I have attached pictures of the engine compartment and the VIN plate.
It is serial (VIN) 8322 14667.

Thanks again!

The 8322 indicates that it is a Tuxedo Park Park. For collector value, restored that would be good. Otherwise not a big deal. The engine appears to be early jeep/buick V 6. If you asked for parts for a 1966 jeep w/v6 you should be fine. Parts are available from most sources .Take a sample of old part when you go if possible. mike

Welcome aboard thats a pretty neat Jeep
