Ive always enjoyed their commercials between every post.

I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that they will no longer let you link to other sites anymore. So who knows, they might not let the pic's be linked out either.
Correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't spend much time over there.

They were commercially bought out and everything was changed. They even went through all of the archives of posted photos and down-sized them. Would not surprise me at all if they set up rules blocking linked images.

Sorry, I helped digress OT but didn't want anyone thinking it was this forums fault. Love the mods especially the fan shroud. Very well done.

okay, it worked for a while then it was gone, in fact deleted. There are no rules against posting pics hosted on another Jeep site and I got no message from a mod saying theres an issue. So I'll try one more time, 3 ways.

Heres a HiLift jack holder I made for mounting to my spare tire carrier. This holds the base and the top locks it on.

Thanks. I don't know much of the technical stuff that makes the site run. I do know that your explanation of how you go about posting your pics will be helpful. I'll pass the info on and let you know. You do have gallery space here by the way.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to start using it. I just hate to have pictures in 3 different locations. Cause then I have to upload a pic I already have uploaded to the net, which takes time, especially with my slow computer at home. Which was why I put my build pics all in one spot on imageshack to begin with. Then I could link to anywhere.
CJ says JF is not allowing picture linking, which is weird because it was visible again last night but now it's gone again. And I didn't touch the post. I thought maybe it had to do with being logged in at JF or not, so I just did and then refreshed but it didn't make a difference. Why would they do that, you'd think they would like the traffic and potential subscribers. Must be the new ownership. It's part of the big conglomeration now, autoforums!

Finished the my rear trunk mod off. Looks a little more finished now. Nothing will roll out the back either. Sorry the pic sucks. The first one is before the painted screen was added.

In the 22 years I've had this CJ, it's had quite a bit of Homemade mods....

- Rocker guards. I cut a set out of a sheet of aluminum diamonplate and pip riveted them on (back in the day before I knew what real protection was)

- Hand throttle. I fabbed up a hand throttle using a bicycle clutch assembly mounted to my steering column. (probably a Schwinn)

- Dana 300 twin stick. I fabbed up shift plates using 1/4" plate steel and an extra D300 shifter (had to hog the eye out so it ran on the shifter pivot rod)

- Flat fenders. Did the homemade angle grinder modification and trimmed out the excess for larger tires.

- OBA. Two different times, the first using a Sanden SD508 compressor when I had the 6-cyl, and again using a York. plumbed the things, ran air lines, and installed a 2.5g tank above the rear driveline attached to the tub.

- Propane conversion. Tore out the gas tank, removed the fuel lines, built a plate to cover the fuel pump hole in the block, tore out the back seat, built tank brackets, system brackets, plumbed it all, and installed/tuned the carb for it.

- 4.0L head conversion. Speaks for itself really, except no two are the same....had to modify brackets, exhaust manifold, exhaust lines, and figure out how to get it all put back together.

- Winch mount. Built a mounting plate for my 8274 using 1.4" plate, gussets, and reinforced the stock C-channel bumper by boxing it. Also welded on clevis shackle mounts to the reinforced bumper.

- paint job. rattle-can. best I've ever done.

- Installed full boat-side rockers. This was not a small job.....had to cut the entire lower 5 inches of the tub out on each side, support it so the body didn't collapse while I was doing this, and hope my guess-work was somewhat accurate for my cuts.

- 1" body lift. Made some homemade pucks out of some really tough polymer we use at work.....cheap cheap cheap.

- Numerous modifications to the tranny tunnel due tranny swaps, engine swaps, etc. Finally just built another one out of aluminum diamond plate.

- Cut holes in my perfectly good hood and installed louver plates to cool off the engine compartment.

- Made fold away mirrors by replacing the mount pins with seat adjustors from a bicycle (probably Schwinn again)

- Built seat brackets to accommodate my new seats that wouldn't work with the stock brackets.

- There's tons more that I've long since forgotten......

I know a lot of this wouldn't be considered "homemade", but I did it at home and that always makes it better then letting a shop do it
