- '76 CJ5 with an '88 258 from a YJ.
AMC20, D30, D20, T150.
I'm planning my future route of an ignition upgrade.
My '76 CJ5 has a 1974 motor. The first thing I did when I bought it this Summer was a standard tune-up: plugs, cap & rotor etc. The first cap/rotor I got was for a '76 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , but didn't fit. I thought the parts guy said what he gave me was from a '77, but didn't 76 and 77 have the Prestolite distributor? I'm fairly certain the vacuum advance is metal, but could it have been replaced?
So are there any other clues that I can look for to see if I have the Duraspark unit?
Thanks
Dave
