Im thinking about doing hydro assist steering on my jeep. Anyone ever do this?

Ran full hydro in my 78 CJ
Currently building hydro asst on my 79
I rebuilt and tapped new holes for the hydro lines in my stock gear box and went with a PSC ram
If you drive your CJ on road check with your state laws most want a mechanical steering connection = technically won't pass inspection.
I believe only 2 states that don't specify a steering connection.

I'm not worried about inspections here I do only want to run hydro assist not full hydro as I do drive it all over the place. I've been looking at redneck ram they are good from what I've heard. Did you upgrade to heavier duty tie rods?

I would upgrade a Dana 30 tie rod.
I'm running a D60 front on my 79 (Hydro Asst)
The 78 was a Dana 44 (Full Hydro)
The Dana 30 and Dana 44 knuckles are the same (except for longer arms) so your good there.

I see a problem using that kit with a CJ pitman arm.
Even going 1/2 ton drag link with a CJ pitman arm is pushing it.
There isn’t a lot of meat around the pitman arm tapered hole and reeming it out for larger DLE would be risky.
Disregard if your going to a beefy pitman arm.
