On the ARB. Confirm with the dealer that it's the latest one and not NOS. ARB has had more than a few issues with the air seals over the years.
What ever you are using as a compressor to work the ARB. Make sure to use a top of the line separator/dryer on the air line that feeds the ARB.
:chug:

I've already got a ARB air compressor, not top of the line one, but one for lockers and small tire air-ups (or small duty cycles). We'll see how it looks when check it out.

Bought the ARB's from Amazon. We'll hope for now...

:D

You have to add the separator/dryer units.
I say this as I have seen several ARB's with water damage to the internals from condensation within the air line. You want the same type of separator set up that is used for painting with a compressor.
Also-Make sure you mount the compressor where you have lots of air flow around it. The ele. motor gets pretty warm at times.
LG

Yeah I've figured out the air around it thing lol - specially since it's in the engine compartment. It will be getting a new home now though with the tube fenders.

Thank you for the tip on the separator - I thought this one had one built in, but I will confirm or get one either way.

:chug:

It may have some type of separator. But not a separator/dryer like one used for painting.
Best of luck with the install.

Think something like this?

TCPAF8040.jpg

$40 1/4" AIR FILTER REGULATOR & LUBRICATOR

or are you talking the $200 + ones?

Would have to find the right line sizes or adaption fittings etc - just general design question.

Very nice. I'm super jealous. That's a great score of parts especially when the Rubicon is your home trail. :notworthy:

So got all the parts, hoping this weekend the weather cooperates some, and I get some time to wrench. May have to help Mom with a fallen tree clean up, so we'll see.

But soon....

So started (for few reasons) with the front fenders. Really like the DIY BT Fab kit.

Here's some pictures. Still need to finish up, paint, figure out marker lights etc...

Was worried about liking the look, but I'm digging it. Think will look even better when finish off the inner fender wells.

I like the flat fender, look really good on your Jeep. Just wondering what this is though:

Looks good there JR, is it possible to use the existing fender wells with that?

With heavy modification, probably, and I may use some of it, like maybe the raised seam that contours with the hood line for better "seal" (Seal wrong word but having hard time finding right one... lol)

Mine are pretty tore up along the bottom edge too, from tires and rocks over the years. I'm thinking of just getting some sheet metal together and doing something similar to this guy 73CJ's in this thread, or Bigtrucknut's cardboard cutout like here:

Wonder what Posi's final product was...

lol - well one day on the trail the radiator cap was letting a bit of overpressure off through the relief hose. I don't have a catch for over-flow, and didn't want to leak on the trail (and there was a ranger ahead looking for leaks on the trail ;) ) so I fabbed a quick overflow bottle catch...

Haven't finished that mod yet... :D

I should add, that doesn't just hang there normally - it was all tucked up nicely along with all that wiring and the CB / bull horn speaker... lol

Looks good!
I bought the same kit
Will start working on the inner fender soon as well.

Nice work on the CJ5 . I just took delivery of a '79 a couple days ago and am excited about tearing into it. Keep up with the inspiring work. Kind cool that the Rubicon is your "home trail". I only Live about an hr from the Badlands Off Road Park, so I also have a "home trail". Not as scenic, but nice trails.

Installed the front ARB and 10 Factory 30 Spline Axle kit in the Dana 30 this last weekend (pictures to follow when have time).

Decided I'm attending the Colorado trail ride this year, so just bought towing A-Arm Bar and chains. Also purchased some magnetic lights to tow CJ with.

Rear ARB, and other small upgrades to follow.
