Hi All and Happy New Year...
Just for kicks post a pic of the steering wheel you have in your rig...stock or aftermarket. Sometimes a cool steering wheel makes the look of the whole interior...I have a ways to go til I need one but my current one is an old rusted grant...

Original, I think as I have not changed it out. This isn't a very good picture though.

I have a steering wheel just like Stodg73's and for good reason. I also have a '79 CJ5 . It's a stock steering wheel. I like it because it's simple and sporty. :D

Just the basic stock one. I actually really like it. The only thing I would change is that I like the ones with the different horn button. The picture was taken when I was doing the SEM Rock-it bed liner.

I'm using a Grant Challener stainless.

My wife got me a Grant Walnut grip steering wheel for Christmas, I just haven't gone and rented a steering wheel puller yet to install it, here's what the new one looks like.

I'm glad this thread was finally started :), I have off and on wanted to replace my orig wheel but always stall out for some reason. My stocker is the basic model that must have come with manual steering? it is larger in diameter than needed now that i have PS and would like something smaller if nothing else for the sake on egress. I have come close to replacing it with the Jeep Rallye wheel but....

WOW Sasquach, that is a huge freaking steering wheel, what is the diameter of that thing? My rallye wheel is 15", that looks like it's a 17" wheel. I don't know that I could get my legs under that thing...

The photo exagerates the size I guess? It's 15 1/4" outside diameter, this I'm thinking is why I have not bought the Rallye wheel because it does not solve the size issue although they look nicer.

Are you kidding (not trying trying to be a jerky, seroius question)? Maybe I don't get how big it is, but that is one cool steering wheel and personally I would not even consider changing out. I would look into putting in tilt first and do the extra work just to keep it. I also like the AMC center cap and it gives it the old school look.

I have not changed mine but the cap was missing and I bought a generic aftermarket cover.

Yes it is oldschool for sure!. I do have tilt steering and the size is not terrible but smaller would be a plus.

Got For Christmas....... Grant 440

I just installed this one. But the splined part is now up in the column. I don't get it? I installed the wheel before hooking it up to the rod that goes to the box.
