Anyone used the POR-15 from the quadratic mags?
What have ya'll done to stop rust on your CJ body?
I've striped the paint on my floorboards and am looking for the best way to stop rust before doing a brush on floor liner. I'd love to rhino-line it but between the slipping clutch, original valve cover, and scary *** seats that don't actually bolt in all the way, I'm gunna havta go cheep on the inside.

Yes Por-15 is great. just be sure to do all three steps.

Por 15 is a amazing product if done corectly. Do it right and it will outlast the jeep. Skip a few steps and it will peel off.

When I did my frame I used Eastwood's Fast Etch solution before using POR15. This fast etch solution converts any rust to zinc oxide. So instead of just covering it up you can convert it. Also there are rust encapsulaters on the market that encapsulate the rust so you can paint over it. Your mileage will vary with any product you use. Just be sure that you follow the steps on the can and allow plenty of dry time for all of it. Rod

POR -15 is some impressive stuff, use the three step as everyone has said. Side note it is very thin put it on with a brush or roller it self levels and holds up to mother nature really well. Here is a pic of the frame rail on my CJ before and after. Looks like powder coat when done

POR-15 and follow the directions. It is amazing stuff but will not hold up to sunlight unless it is top-coated. My friend coated his Bronco frame and underbody with it from underneath and it still looks like it was powder coated ten years later.

yes por-15 is great and go to there web site and look at there other products , and if your on roll in liner you should look at products for a spray on liner do it yourself , I used Raptor and it is great , you can see the results on my jeep on the build of my jeep . I started the following thread about 4 years ago. I stripped my entire interior and POR15'd it. I took a bunch of pics along the way. 4 years later the stuff still looks brand new.

As for your seats not bolting down, I gotta be honest and tell you this REALLY concerns me. It's something that could literally kill you and anyone else if you ever got into an accident....and worse, it will be the kind of accident where someone hits YOU.

My guess is someone installed some sort of aftermarket seats that don't fit (in which case you need to replace them) or someone drilled out the old bolts and damaged the welded nuts built into the frame.

If that's the case, it's an easy fix involving a trip to the local ACE hardware store to buy some grade 8 bolts and nuts to replace the current bolts. Please pay the extra bit of money and buy the grade 8's.

If you are going to paint the interior floor, then you're going to have to take the seats out anyway...

Thanks for the concern, I'm planning on getting better seats with something better than a lap belt. But since it's my DD all my $ is going to keeping it working. I have to have a new Transmission put in this week, then starting to save up for the seats. In the meantime i'm spending small bucks on striping paint and taking on the rust
