Why would I even consider leaving Cjs behind? Well I contacted a good source for Scramblers and he sent me all sorts of pictures of Scramblers in varying conditions from a dune runner to a few rolling chassis.

Then he slipped me a Mickey. Ive always admired the Willys trucks and imagined restoring or building one in my "Golden Years" after the kids were gone. He told me he sent it to me as eye candy. Id call it fish bait cause he got me hook , line , and sinker. I was looking for an automatic Cj and umm.... didnt happen ;) So heres a pic of it. I hope you guys like it as much as I did. '48 body on a J-truck chassis with a massages Vortech v-6 backed by a T-150 Dana 20 with dana 44s sporting 4.10s and a Limited slip in the rear.

Sorry about the pic sizes but I fell in love with this Jeep instantly. Old Dog youll still accept me wheeling this right? :D

Oooh nooooo..... you are going to have to start posting in the "other than CJs" forum... nooobody goes there...

Nice, post more pics of that beaut and I might forgive you ;)

Very nice Pete! My dad grew up driving one of those. I would love to own one but the cj takes most of my money.

building a Willys truck has always been a dream of mine as well.

I want to thank you for coming out of the closet like this, it will make it a lot easier for the rest of us.

I would like it a lot more if it had more Jeep parts in it but it is truly way cool.

I just saw one like that at a 4X4 shop by me setting next to some other jeeps that were for sale. I turned around and went back to ask what he wanted for it, he said it was there to be worked on and not for sale.:(

Anyway, hell yea, you can still wheel with me in that. And when you get tired of it you can sell it to me.:)
Are you keeping the cj too.

He sent them to me small like that but when I watch the slideshow version of it their nice and big. I'll have to mess with it and see if I can save them bigger.

Well technically the only non Jeep part is the Chevy engine but I know what you mean. Im not sure how practical the the factory 4 cyl. and 5.38 gears would be. There usually isnt much left of those early c channel frames left in this part of the states either.

I wish you could post those pics so I can full screen them.

Me too. I'll work on it.

Well Ive been known to be a little odd so I'll be "That Guy" :D

Its in Dillsboro Ia. He got it from a guy who was going thru a divorce 3 years ago. He was the 2nd owner getting the original truck from his grandfather. I was just lucky enough to be the first one to ask for pics when he finally decided to sell it. I measured the odds of me finding one with a rust free body around here and it was a pretty easy decision.

Unfortunately the part out of the Cj has already begun. With the frame rotted more than I originally thought I figured it was best as an organ donor to keep other Cjs alive. :( I'll have another one though its just a matter of time. And when I do I'll know alot better what to look for.:chug:

I have to admit, I'm a closet fan of these myself.. I almost bought an Overlander Wagon last year in PA.. if it wouldn't have been as rusty as it was, well.... it would have been mine.:D

Thats the tough part , finding a rust free one. I had a thread called Old Iron with a bunch of eye candy in it. I'll find it and bump it to the top. Its only about 20 minutes from me in Bowmanstown Pa. Hes got some really cool stuff.
