I guess spring comes when spring comes.

It has been really nice here for the past few days but Pikes Peak has a load of snow on it. Carol and I took the Jeep out Saturday and went up Old Stage Road to the south side of the peak. There was about 18" on the level up there but then hardly anything is level in that country. It was a beautiful day and the snow was melting like crazy so we had lots of mud to wash off when we got back. While up there, we ended up about two or three miles up in the forest on a trail that someone had broken out ahead of us when we came upon a couple of kids standing in the middle of the trail. Seems they were the ones that were breaking out the trail but they a reached their limit about a mile further up. We loaded them up and went on up to where their rig was high centered. A POS F150 Ford p/u and they had stuck it good. I packed the snow down good behind them and got out a tow strap. That was a no go so we backed off about 50 feet and ran a winch line to them. That did the trick and as soon as they could turn around, they were gone without so much as a thanks.

Oh well, we do it for the fun, anyhow. :)

If/when you head up there again please takes some pics. Hopefully the guys you winched pays it forward.
I'm 150ft above sea level and it looks like the middle of winter here snow covering the ground, road white with salt, and 14 degrees this morning. One thing about New England weather it changes fast, tomorrow it will be raining and 59 degrees.

Carol got some photos on her phone but unfortunately has been too sick to get them off for me. Springtime also seems to bring the crud.

We've been getting temps in the high 60's but yesterday evening a squall passed through with snow. Too fast and too warm for any accumulation. It can snow any month of the year here.

Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the gang in August.

Likewise, hope Carol is feeling better soon.

Hocus pocus alah kazam - poof you now live in Hawaii! Good grief. The local tree warden in a small snobbish town in southern Maine wants me to specify trees that grow in the Carolinas here on one of my projects in preparation for global warming coming our way - way too much time on his hands!!!!
