On another note. When I reminded the crankshaft bolt. Oil came pouring out.

Sounds like the balancer was not OEM:confused:
Pull the valve cover and ck the head bolts.

Maybe the rubber on the balancer is coming apart (common) and the outer ring slipped enough to get into the cover. Might check that.
I just finished up an LS build for my “other Jeep” and it sat for weeks at a time opened up on the engine stand. Get you a LARGE trash bag can keep the entire thing covered when not working on it. Keep the dirt and Biggs out, also little curious finger...

I've been slowly putting together a 351w for my CJ5 . I plan on being done by the end of the summer...started this past winter.

Be sure to apply assembly grease (or oil depending on what you're installing) on everything and keep it covered with a large garbage bag. The thicker, the better...that way if it gets bumped around, it won't get any holes.
